Interest rates are constantly changing. Many people try to wait for the perfect time to buy or sell their home based on interest rates. Frankly, one can't control or predict what interest rates will do.

NCJ recommends that their clients purchase a home when it's right for them. This is often a time when their family is changing. It could be a marriage, new baby on the way, a change in economic resources, a relocation to a new area, retirement, or just a change in life style. It's rare for interest rates to determine if and when a family moves into a new home.

Information is available to you online for each year 1990 - the present. Additionally, we have a single chart showing the entire period on a single graph.

The statistics shown here include both conforming and jumbo mortgages to give a true picture of the overall mortgage market.

Averages shown here reflect only the interest rate. Points and fees are not included in this data.
